I arrived at Puslinch Community Hall at around 4:00 pm to do my set-up and sound check.
Evening schedule was
6:00 Bride and Groom arrive, announced, bagpipes.
6:30 – Dinner served
7:30 Speeches after main course is finished being served
8:30 Speeches after dessert is finished being served
9:00 First dance, Bride and Father Dance
10:30 cutting of the cake
10:45 – garter and bouquet toss.
1:00 AM Last Dance
This event was well attended around 170 guest.
Music I played was 70's, 80's & 90's Rock hits and current dancing music. From 9:15 pm till closing time dance floor was full. I was originally booked to play till 12 midnight but I was asked if I would stay till 1:00 AM.
Only downside was that my DJ table was set-up next to the head table and there was one guest table in front of my dj table and this is not the most ideal set-up.
Ideally I would like that the table should be either on the edge or no further than 5 feet from the dance floor and unimpeded by guest tables. Sound levels can be high to accommodate dancing and this will eliminate uncomfortable sound for guests seated between the dance floor and the DJ.
I have posted a diagram of an ideal set-up.
This was a fun evening for most of the guest that attended.
